Improving our website and services

We may use information about how people interact with our website, quiz and products to:

  • understand how our website is being used;

  • identify technical problems;

  • improve our website and user experience;

  • improve our products and educational resources; and

  • understand which content is useful to our audience.

Where possible, we use aggregated or anonymised information for these purposes.

Security and fraud prevention

We may process technical and transaction information to protect our website, systems and customers, detect suspicious activity and prevent fraud or misuse.

Legal and business obligations

We may process personal data where necessary to:

  • comply with legal obligations;

  • maintain accounting and financial records;

  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims;

7. Our lawful bases for processing

Under UK data protection law, we need a lawful basis for processing your personal data.

Depending on what we are doing, we may rely on the following lawful bases.

Performance of a contract

We may process your personal data because it is necessary to provide a product or service you have requested or purchased.

For example, this may include providing access to the Social Energy Reset course or delivering a Social Energy Blueprint.

Legal obligation

We may process personal data where this is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, such as financial, accounting or tax requirements.

Consent

Where required, we may ask for your consent before processing your personal data.

For example, we may rely on consent where you choose to receive certain communications or where consent is required for particular cookies or similar technologies.

You can withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.

Legitimate interests

We may process personal data where this is necessary for our legitimate interests, provided that those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

Our legitimate interests may include:

  • operating and improving our website;

  • maintaining website and system security;

  • preventing fraud and misuse;

  • managing our business;

  • responding to enquiries;

  • maintaining appropriate business records; and

  • improving our services and resources.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the processing is necessary and whether your interests and fundamental rights and freedoms are appropriately protected.

8. The Social Energy™ quiz

The Social Energy™ quiz is designed to help you explore your Social Energy™ type and understand yourself better.

Your quiz responses are used to generate your Social Energy™ result.

The quiz is not designed to diagnose, identify or assess a medical condition, and your result is not a medical diagnosis or clinical assessment.

Your quiz result may be used to provide you with information and resources relevant to your Social Energy™ type.

The result is generated from the answers you provide.

The quiz does not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

9. Email communications

If you provide your email address and choose to receive email communications from us, we may use your email address to send you information relating to Healing Social Anxiety.

  • information relating to resources you have requested;

  • information about our digital products and courses, including Social Energy™ Reset; and

  • other relevant information about our services.

Where an email contains advertising or promotional content about our products or services, we will treat it as direct marketing and will only send it where we have an appropriate lawful basis and comply with the applicable requirements of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Where consent is required for direct marketing by email, we will ask you to actively opt in to receive it. You can withdraw your consent or unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link provided in the email or by contacting us.

Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not prevent us from sending essential service or transactional communications, such as:

  • purchase confirmations;

  • payment or billing information;

  • course access information;

  • important information about products or services you have purchased; or

  • other necessary administrative communications.

Where you have purchased a product or service from us, we may in some circumstances be able to rely on the existing-customer "soft opt-in" rules to send marketing about our own similar products or services. Where we rely on this exception, we will comply with all applicable PECR requirements, including providing a clear opportunity to opt out when your contact details are collected and in every subsequent marketing communication.

13. How long we keep your personal data

We retain different categories of personal data for different periods depending on why we collected it, our legal obligations, and whether there is an ongoing relationship with you.

We do not keep personal data for longer than is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless we have a legal or legitimate reason to retain it for longer.

Our approach includes the following:

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 18.

We may need to ask for information to confirm your identity before responding to a request.
